Floating shaft couplings, also called spacer couplings, are designed for applications where drive and load components are spaced far apart from each other. These zero-backlash and torsionally stiff solutions from Zero-Max provide superior misalignment capacity and can be made to any length requirement.

  • Clamp-Style hub floating shaft couplings are the preferred method for connecting the coupling hub to the shaft as they engage the shaft’s entire circumference. This hub style offers more holding power, is typically easier to install, and will not damage the shafts. Clamp type CD Coupling hubs from Zero-Max are available with keyways or without keyways, depending on preference and application.
  • Set-Screw hub floating shaft couplings require a keyway on the shaft and in the coupling, so a key can be used to transmit power. This “traditional” way of connecting couplings to shafts offers good holding power and easy installation.
