Job Title: Manufacturing Process Engineer

Job Descriptions: Summary
Creates and maintains methods of manufacturing from engineering design documentation. Collaborates with Purchasing and Manufacturing Process resources to effectively apply machining and assembly capabilities, as well as appropriate external suppliers to an efficient and competitive fabrication of products and components.  
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
 
Responsibilities         
-Enters and maintains information for manufacturing processes in the Enterprise Resource Planning system
-Uses engineering drawings and other documentation to create and to maintain a bill of materials and a hierarchy of operations
-Estimates setup and production times for machining and assembly of components and of products in development
-Adjusts methods and designs based on feedback from the Manufacturing Process resources
-Interacts with manufacturing and with suppliers on alternate manufacturing methods, machines, tooling and fixtures
-Participates in the development of new products, research of new materials and technologies, product enhancements and expansions.
-Contributes to the development of new Inspection Plans, collaborates with Quality and Product Engineers
-Solicits feedback from Engineers, Machinists and Assemblers to continually improve the manufacturing methods.

Education/Experience
-Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing or Engineering; or equivalent, preferred
-Five years of machine shop experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
-Experience with CAM systems and with manufacturing estimation tools, preferred
 
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and other documents such as safety rules and operating and maintenance instructions.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to communicate effectively with groups of customers, employees, or managers of organization.
 
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plain and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
 
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
 
Additional Qualifications
-Must have general knowledge of mechanics and be current with the latest technologies
-Ability to plan tasks and to schedule serial and concurrent activities
-Must understand complexity of designs and CAD/CAE/CAE systems
-Technically persuasive and effective at presenting technical information
-Experience with Epicor or a similar Enterprise Resource Planning system is required
