Job Title:                             Regional Sales Manager

SUMMARY  Salaried position - Implements the company's marketing plan to achieve sales and profit goals by directing the sales/marketing efforts through our representatives and distributors in a number of assigned territories in the U.S.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Assumes primary responsibility for the maintenance and growth of business in an assigned geographic region within the US and/or Canadian regions.

Assists Independent Representatives in explaining the technical functions and uses of company products to prospective customers and distributors.

Recommends a course of action to the Independent Representatives to identify target accounts and follows-up on those recommendations.

Makes sales calls to management representatives such as Engineers, or other professional and technical personnel at commercial, industrial, and other establishments and attempts to convince prospective client of desirability and practibility of products or services offered.

Must be willing to travel 30% of the time for events that can take up to two weeks.  Travel may be both domestic and international (via plane or car). Occassionally, remote work and work done during nontraditional hours is required.

Takes on the leadership role in negotiations with OEM customers.

Assists the Sales Director in developing marketing/sales plans and goals for their territories.

Evaluates the performance of representatives and distributors in their assigned territories.

Aids customers and customer service with technical support, and assists the customer service department with phone sales overload.

Recommends and attends product trade shows and conferences.

Assists the Sales Director in developing marketing/sales plans and goals for their territories.

Prepares reports of business transactions and expense accounts.

Evaluates the performance of Independent Representatives in their assigned territories.

Aids customers and Customer Service with technical support.  Assists the customer service department with phone/email overload.

Participates in overall product stategy, research and development requirements and analysis of market research.

Education and/or Experience  Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills   Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to understand conversions between inch and metric standards.

Reasoning Ability  Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
