Job Descriptions: | SUMMARY Under the direct supervision of the Tool Room Supervisor, the Building Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs on the facility and equipment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Performs minor building, plumbing, electrical and painting, as necessary. Responsible for preventative manual and CNC machine maintenance measures, such as changing of coolant in CNC machines. Transports materials and items in production and machine shop area to storage or to other designated areas using a forklift and/or pallet jack. Maintains warehouse area; ensures neat and orderly storage of materials. Maintains record-keeping for Hazardous waste. Maintains inventory of repair equipment and supplies on computer system. Participates in monthly Safety Committee meetings. Completes Safety Inspections as directed by Safety Committee Builds wooden crates and boxes for shipping. Assists with basic assemblies, as needed. Maintains outside building (includes light snow removal and salting walkway), as needed. Previous job experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred. Requirement Basic knowledge of carpentry and plumbing Experience using hand and electrical tools Language Skills Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Mathematical Skills Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, operate fork lift/pallet jack to move, stack, and load and unload materials as necessary.
